Career Opportunities
There are many career paths for individuals with M.S. degrees in Nutrition. The majority of our graduate students earn the R.D. credential and work as clinical dietitians in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals and eating disorder clinics. These alumni earn between $50,000 and $70,000 per year. Other alumni work for the State of Texas, non-profit organizations, and education-related positions, earning similar salaries. Alumni that are not R.D.s tend to work for medical or pharmaceutical companies or research universities, where they direct clinical trials or act as research coordinators. Non-R.D. alumni that earned their M.S. with a thesis and are working in the private sector, earn over $80,000 five years after graduation. Finally, for those that chose to continue their education, alumni from our program are currently earning their Ph.D. at universities around the US.
