Ms. Bravo Moix
Marie Karen Bravo Moix has an interdisciplinary background that centers important issues affecting women and fashion. Her education includes a B.F.A. in Fashion Design and Minor in Fashion Merchandising from the University of North Texas (UNT), an M.A. from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design in Textiles for Design Futures, an M.A. in Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies from Texas Woman’s University, and a certificate in Art Museum Education (UNT).
Highlights from her career include a position as a lingerie/loungewear catalog designer, the director of a creative re-use arts & crafts retailer, and managing a Betsey Johnson boutique. Currently, she is a fashion and textile consultant with a team who works with breast cancer patients.
As a fashion design educator with over ten years of experience teaching, she enjoys sharing her experiences of working in the fashion industry with those who have a passion for fashion. Future research includes exploring the potential of digital fashion archives and museums.
