Human Development and Family Sciences
The HDFS program focuses on issues to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities across the life course and within social and cultural contexts. Students learn to use the multidisciplinary approaches, cutting-edge methodologies and research to help children, youth and families succeed. Our graduates have careers in childcare services, pediatric services in hospitals (Child Life Specialists), human services, and businesses and nonprofits related to children or families. Many continue their education in our Master’s program in HDFS or attend professional school becoming counselors, occupational therapists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, physicians, attorneys, or policymakers.
