Students, staff, and alumni, please join the School of Family & Consumer Sciences on Friday April 26, 2024 from 5 - 8pm for a celebration of the FCS students and faculty at Texas State University. Enjoy speakers from both FCS faculty and students, grab hors d'oeuvres, and celebrate the beauty of our school at "FCS in Bloom".
FCS in Bloom
FCS in Bloom is our signature end of the year symposium and showcase celebrating the graduating seniors and graduate students from across the School of Family and Consumer Sciences!
This is a chance to come together to learn about the amazing work our students have accomplished through viewing their posters and presentations. We welcome current students, faculty, alumni, donors, and their families to join us for an evening of music, dancing, and light refreshments as we learn from our amazing students.

Meet us at the School of Family & Consumer Sciences at Texas State University (Academy St, San Marcos, TX 78666). For the full experience, get there on time and stay until the end! The event will be taking place from 5-8PM, and you don't want to miss a thing.

Parking
Due to construction happening across the street and on the Texas State University campus, parking in the FCS building parking lot is extremely limited. We highly recommend parking in the LBJ Parking Garage (map attached) or using ride-share apps!

Tickets
Securing your tickets in advance of the event makes your life (and ours) easier. As always, tickets are limited so be sure to tell your friends to pre-register if they haven't already. Get your free tickets.

Extra Credit/Attendance
If you are a student, please have your student IDs ready to go while checking in, so that you can get credit for attending!

Attire
Dress for the event and weather. While there is not a specific theme for the event, but we would like attendees to dress in their favorite Spring colors (pinks, greens, yellows, orange, etc.)!

Food
Come hungry! We'll have food available for all attendees in the Courtyard, free of charge.
Programming
- 5:00 - 5:15pm: Arrive, network, and hors d'oeuvres.
- 5:15 - 6:00pm: Fashion Merchandise and Consumer Affairs work in FCS 179, Nutrition work in FCS 189.
- 6:00 - 6:45pm: Human Development & Family Sciences work in FCS 188, Interior Design work in second floor hallway and FCS 158.
- 6:45 - 7:30pm: Student Awards/Scholarships in the Courtyard.
- 7:30 - 8:00pm: Hors d'oeuvres, network, and dance.
