HDFS 4301: Internship in HDFS

Please see the Internship Handbook for complete information, including important deadlines.

  • The School of Family and Consumer Sciences instituted the internship requirement to promote interaction between students and the work environment. HDFS 4301 is designed to allow students to participate in an educationally oriented practical experience.
  • Through the 150-hour internship, each student will have an opportunity to translate theory into application and gain on-the-job experiences in the field of Human Development and Family Sciences.

All internship locations must be approved by the HDFS Internship Coordinator, Ms. Amber Titus-Love (at24@txstate.edu).

Students interested in a spring internship should attend the information session offered during the fall semester, and students interested in a summer or fall internship should attend the information session offered during the spring semester. There are required materials the student must submit in the semester prior to the student’s internship.
