Dietetics Program Goals and Objectives

1. The Texas State Dietetics Program will prepare graduates for acceptance into dietetic internships and/or nutrition related employment.

i. At least 80% of program students complete program requirements within three years. 95%
ii. 25% of program graduates will apply for admission to a supervised practice program prior to or within three years of graduation. 34%
iii. Of program graduates who apply to a supervised practice program, at least 50% are admitted within three years of graduation. 88%
iv. 30% of program graduates apply for admission to a supervised practice program within five years of graduation. 50%
v. The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of the first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%. 96%
vi. 50% of graduates that seek a nutrition-related position will be employed in a position that provides a contribution to the community within a year of graduation. 83%
vii. 75% of supervised practice directors responding to a survey will rate program graduates preparation for supervised practice as satisfactory or above. 90%
viii. 75% of students enrolled in NUTR 4301 (Career Exploration in Nutrition and Foods) will receive high rankings (rated as "outstanding") from site mentors. 83% rated as Outstanding

2. The Texas State Dietetics Program will prepare graduates for lifelong learning using a research-based approach.
